Today we're going to be concentrating on mapping a few of the more challenging pieces of the Sentry Gun model. We'll discuss how to approach mapping complex geometry and subdivision surfaces, and use a few tricks to get it done quickly and effectively.

In this tutorial authored by Chris Tate, you will learn how to model, uvmap and texture a high poly version of the level one Sentry Gun from Team Fortress 2, using a combination of blueprints, images and video reference. This tutorial is aimed at intermediate to advanced artists, but any artist, regardless of skill level should easily be able to follow along.
