1. Creating the Foot
Step 1
Start Maya. To begin foot modeling, click on Create > Polygon Primitives > Cube and place it around the foot area according to the reference images.

Step 2
Press the F11 key for face selection mode. Select the indicated face and apply Extrude command. Drag the extruded face in Z axis for making fingers.

Step 3
Press F9 key for vertex selection mode. Edit the vertices of the foot as shown in the following image.

Step 4
Insert six vertical and horizontal edge loops as shown in the following image. Delete the top face of the foot also.

Step 5
Edit the vertices and edges according to the reference images to form the basic shape of foot.

Step 6
Select the indicated faces of the front side and delete them.

Step 7
To make the fingers, insert several edge loops as shown in the following image.

Step 8
Edit the vertices to form the basic shape of toe, fingers and ankle.

2. Creating Fingers
Step 1
Create a cylinder with subdivisions as 8. Place it around the toe as shown in the following image.

Step 2
Select the four alternate
edges on the front of the finger and delete them. Delete the back faces also.

Step 3
Edit the vertices and edges of the mesh to make it like the toe.

Step 4
To make the nail of the toe, first select two top faces and extrude once. After extrusion, scale down the faces a little bit.

Step 5
Press 3 on the keyboard for smooth preview mode. The mesh looks like the toe.

Step 6
Duplicate the toe
mesh four times. Scale down each duplicated mesh as per the requirement and
place them accordingly.

Step 7
With all finger meshes and foot mesh selected, go to Mesh > Combine command to combine the selected meshes together.

Step 8
For each finger,
select the corresponding vertices together and use Merge command to
merge them together.

Step 9
In this way, the basic foot modeling of Hulk is completed.

3. Connecting Foot with Leg
Step 1
For connecting the foot mesh with the leg mesh, you need to maintain the equal counting of the vertices of both meshes. With the three indicated vertices selected, use Merge command to merge them together.

Step 2
In this way, I have reduced four vertices on the border.

Step 3
If you count, you will have eight vertices on the border that is identical to the leg mesh border vertices. Arrange the border vertices according to the leg mesh border.

Step 4
To make the ankle, extrude the six back faces and arrange them according to the side foot reference as shown in the following image.

Step 5
For increasing the leg border vertices, extrude the back faces of calf area.

Step 6
In this way, I have not
only maintained the leg and foot border vertices to attach and merge, but also
made the calf.

Step 7
With the leg and foot
meshes selected, go to Mesh > Combine command to combine the selected
meshes together. After that, start merging the corresponding vertices together.

Step 8
In this way, the leg and foot meshes have been merged and combined together successfully.

4. Creating the Palm
Step 1
To make the palm and fingers, go to Create > Polygon Primitives > Cube and draw a cube out in the viewport.

Step 2
Place it in the hand area, using both the front and side views.

Step 3
Go to Edit Mesh > Insert Edge Loop Tool and insert four edge loops as shown in the following image.

Step 4
Now, edit the vertices to form the palm while following the side and front views.

Step 5
Select the entire lower faces of the cube by pressing the F11 key and then delete those faces.

Step 6
To make fingers, insert several vertical edge loops in between the edges.

Step 7
Insert one horizontal edge loop around the fingers border area.

5. Creating Fingers
Step 1
In the perspective view, create a polygon cylinder and place it under the index finger area with Subdivisions Axis as 8.

Step 2
Insert several edge loops using the Insert Edge Loop Tool command. After editing the vertices and using Merge command, turn the shape of the mesh to the basic finger as shown in the following image.

Step 3
To make the nail of the finger, first select two top faces and extrude once. After extrusion, scale down the faces a little bit.

Step 4
Press 3 on the keyboard for smooth preview mode. The mesh looks like the finger.

Step 5
Duplicate the finger mesh four times. Scale down each duplicated mesh as per the requirement and place them accordingly.

Step 6
With all finger meshes and palm mesh selected, go to Mesh > Combine command to combine the selected meshes together.

Step 7
After combining the
meshes, use Merge command to merge the corresponding vertices of the attached
meshes

6. Attaching Palm with Hand
Step 1
For making equal vertices count for forearm and palm meshes, I have extruded the indicated faces to increase the border vertices number.

Step 2
After that, start merging the corresponding vertices together. In this way, the hand modeling is completed.

7. Creating Hip
Step 1
With the four faces of the hip area selected, extrude them as shown in the following image.

Step 2
After using extrude command, scale down the faces a bit to form the hip of character as shown in the following image.

Step 3
Finally, the basic
body modeling is done. In next part, I will start making the head of the
character.

Conclusion
In the next part of the tutorial, I will show you how to create the detailed head and face of the character.
