1. Creating Text Layer
Step 1
Open After Effects.

Step 2
Press Ctrl-N to create a new composition. Keep the Width and Height values as 1280 and 720 respectively. Rename the composition name as Fiery Logo Reveal. Click on OK.

Step 3
Press Ctrl-Alt-Shift-T to create a new text layer. Write Fiery Logo Reveal in this layer.

Step 4
With the Fiery Logo Reveal layer selected, go to Effect > Transition >Linear Wipe to apply the effect onto the text layer.

Step 5
Animate the Transition value of the Linear Wipe effect as shown in the following image. The transition flows from left to right and 100 to 0 values.

2. Creating Heat Distortion Map
Step 1
Press Ctrl-N to create a new composition. Keep the Width and Height
values as 1280 and 720 respectively. Rename the composition name
as Heat Distortion Map. Click on OK.

Step 2
Press Ctrl-Y to create a new black solid layer. Rename this layer as Heat Distortion Map.

Step 3
With the Heat Distortion Map layer selected, go to Effect > Trapcode > Particular to apply the effect onto the solid layer.

Step 4
Keep the Particles/ Sec value to 100 and Emitter as Box. Set the Emitter Size X value to 1200.

Step 5
Set the Velocity value to 500. Open Emission Extras roll out and set the Pre Run value to 50.

Step 6
In the Particle roll out, change the values of Size to 100, Size Random [%] to 20, Opacity to 50 and Opacity Random [20%] to 20.

Step 7
Change the Color of the particles to red.

Step 8
In the Physics roll out, set the Gravity value to -500.

3. Creating Fire
Step 1
Press Ctrl-N to create a new composition. Keep the Width and Height
values as 1280 and 720 respectively. Rename the composition name
as Final. Click on OK.

Step 2
Press Crtl-Y to create a new black solid layer. Rename this layer as Fire.

Step 3
With the Fire layer selected, go to Effect > Trapcode > Particular to apply the effect onto the solid layer.

Step 4
Import Fiery Logo Reveal and Heat Distortion Map compositions
inside the Final composition.

Step 5
Turn off the visibility of Fiery Logo Reveal and Heat Distortion
Map layers.

Step 6
With the Fire layer selected, go to Particular effect and
increase the Particles/ Sec value to 10000 and set the Emitter
Type as Layer.

Step 7
Open Layer Emitter roll out and select Fiery Logo Reveal layer
as the emitter layer.

Step 8
In the Particles roll out, set the values of Life and Life
Random to 0.5 and 5 respectively. Increase the value of Sphere
Feather to 100. Set the Size and Size Random values to
15 and 50 respectively. Set the Color Random value to 25.

Step 9
In the Physics roll out, set the Gravity value to -300.

Step 10
In the Rendering roll out, turn on Motion Blur option.

Step 11
Go to Effect > Color Correction > Curves and apply it on the Fire
layer.

Step 12
Go to Effect > Color Correction > Hue & Saturation and
apply it on the Fire layer. Turn on Colorize option. Set the Colorize
Hue value to 30. Maximize the Colorize Saturation value.

Step 13
Go to Effect > Blur & Sharpen > CC Vector Blur and apply
it on the Fire layer. Increase the values of Amount to 20,
Ridge Smoothness to 5 and Map Softness to 2.

Step 14
Apply a Fast Blur effect with the Blurriness value to 2.

Step 15
Go to Effect > Stylize > Glow and apply it on the Fire
layer. Change the value of the properties of Glow as shown in the
following image.

4. Creating Burning Text
Step 1
Turn on the visibility of the text layer. Now it looks like the fire is coming out of the text itself. Some color correction is still needed.

Step 2
Go to Effect > Color Correction > Tint and apply it on the text layer. Change the colors as shown in the following image.

Step 3
Go to Effect > Stylize > Glow and apply it on the text
layer. Change the value of the properties of Glow as shown in the
following image.

Step 4
Go to Effect > Distort > Displacement Map and apply it on the text
layer. Set the Heat Distortion Map layer as the Displacement Map
Layer. Change the values as shown in the following image.

Step 5
Now play the animation and you will see the fire is coming out of the text
layer.

5. Creating Sparkles
Step 1
With the Fire layer selected, press Ctrl-D to make a
duplicate copy of this layer. Rename this duplicate layer as Sparkles.

Step 2
In this layer, you need to change some values of Particular effect
to give it a look of sparkles. Change the values of the properties like Particles
/ second, Direction, and Velocity etc as shown in the
following image.

Step 3
Following the same way, change some other values also like Life and Size
as shown in the following image.

Step 4
In the Sparkle layer, either delete of turn off CC Vector Blur
and Fast Blur effects as these are not needed anymore.

Step 5
Now play the animation and you will see the fire and sparkle are coming out
of the text layer as per the revelation of the text.

Conclusion
Trapcode Particular is a great plugin for After Effects. You can create realistic fire, sparkles, smoke, cloud, fog etc with the help of this plugin. I would produce some more tutorials based on such effects.
