1. Creating Inner Mouth
Step 1
Start Maya and open the file which was saved in the last part of the tutorial.

Step 2
Select the inner border edges of the mouth as shown in the following image.

Step 3
With the inner mouth border edges selected, apply Extrude command to extrude the edges towards X axis as shown in the following image.

Step 4
Scale the extruded edges also as shown in the following image.

Step 5
Adjust the border edges as shown in the following image.

Step 6
Jump in the face selection mode and select the indicated inner faces as shown in the following image.

Step 7
With the faces selected, apply Extrude command and push it in Z axis as shown in the following image.

Step 8
Select and delete the unwanted faces as shown in the following image.

Step 9
To create the throat gap, select the four indicated faces as shown in the following image.

Step 10
With the faces selected, extrude twice inside the mouth as shown in the following image.

Step 11
With the help of Insert Edge Loop tool, insert an edge loop as shown in the following image.

Step 12
Select the indicated faces for both upper and lower jaws as shown in the following image.

Step 13
With the gum faces selected, go to Edit Mesh > Duplicate command to make another duplicate faces group.

Step 14
Hide the indicated meshes to avoid the unwanted face selection problem.

Step 15
Extrude the lower mesh for gums as shown in the following image.

Step 16
Insert an indicated edge loop around the gum mesh as shown in the following image.

Step 17
In this way, the upper and lower gums are ready.

Step 18
With the help of Duplicate Special option, create the mirrored instance of the mesh for the other side.

Step 19
To create the tongue, insert an edge as shown in the following image.

Step 20
With the help of Multi-Cut tool, create a segment as shown in the following image.

Step 21
Select the faces for the tongue as shown in the following image.

Step 22
Extrude the faces once as shown in the following image. You can isolate the half part of the mesh for better viewing experience of the selection process.

Step 23
Select and delete the side faces of the extruded part as shown in the following image.

Step 24
Edit the shape as tongue. Select and extrude the two faces towards Z axis out of the mouth of the dinosaur.

Step 25
Keep extruding the faces out of the mouth and form the shape of the tongue by scaling the tip of the tongue down.

Step 26
Select and delete the border faces as shown in the following image.

Step 27
Unhide the hidden part of the mesh and keep the border edges close to each other.

Step 28
Jump in the vertex selection mode and edit the shape of the tongue. Press 3 key on the keyboard to check the mesh in smooth preview mode.

Step 29
Keep the tongue down as shown in the following image.

2. Creating Teeth
Step 1
As you can see, upper and lower gums are completed and teeth will be fixed here.

Step 2
Create a cone in the perspective view port.

Step 3
With the cone selected, set the values of Radius as 0.2, Height as 2, Subdivisions Axis as 12 and Subdivisions Height as 4.

Step 4
Select and delete the cap faces of the cone.

Step 5
With the D key pressed, drag the Y Axis arrow down to the bottom of the cone as shown in the following image.

Step 6
Place the cone shape over the lower gum as shown in the following image.

Step 7
Jump in the vertex selection mode and edit the shape of the teeth as shown in the following image.

Step 8
Make several duplicate teeth with various scaling and place them over the gum as shown in the following image.

Step 9
With all lower left gum teeth selected, press Ctrl-G key on the keyboard to create a group of it.

Step 10
With the teeth group selected, open Duplicate Special Options window.
Turn on Copy radio button with the value in the Scale X axis as -1.0 and then click on Duplicate Special button.

Step 11
This creates the duplicate teeth group for the other side's gum as shown in the following image.

Step 12
Following the same way, create the teeth groups for both upper left and right gums as shown in the following image.

Step 13
For adding details to the eye socket, insert two more edge loops around the eye socket as shown in the following image.

Step 14
Edit the vertices of the eye socket as per the reference image.

Step 15
With the eye's border edges selected, apply Extrude command to extrude the edges inside the socket as shown in the following image.

Step 16
Jump in the side view port and create a poly sphere primitive to create the eye ball.

Step 17
Place the eye ball inside the eye socket.

Step 18
Edit the vertices of the eye socket to cover the eye ball completely.

Step 19
You can see the final basic shape of the dinosaur both in the wired and smooth preview mode.
