It was only early in June last year when we said goodbye to Kaleb, who had taken on the role of Environmental Artist with EA Games, and now it's time to see Matt Brealey on to none other than The Foundry. Thanks to Matt for being a great editor while he worked with us, we hope to see some tutorials from him in the future if he can find time between flying all over the globe!
Here's the message Matt wanted to leave for authors and readers of the site
I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank all of the authors I've worked with over the past few months for their consistently amazing contributions, the passionate staff over at Envato for providing a platform for such an indispensable learning environment, and finally you, the readers, for all of your comments, competition entries and for making this community one of the most vibrant out there on the net. It's been an awesome few months and although personally I'm really rather sad to be saying goodbye so soon, I know that the site is being left in amazing hands. Any of you who regularly visit Cgtuts+ will already be aware of the amazing enthusiasm and professionalism the Tate brothers bring to their work, and I'm extremely excited to see where they take the site over the coming months! Thanks again and have a fantastic 2011!
Here's a message from Chris
Hey everyone! First I have to extend a huge thank you to Matt, not only for the amazing work he has done as editor of Cgtuts+, but also for his extra effort in helping Ben and I transition into the editor position. As a regular tutorial author I've had the pleasure of working with Matt throughout his time here and I have to say his professionalism and continued enthusiasm has made the process an enjoyable one. I wish him nothing but continued success in the future and I hope he'll continue to have a regular presence on the site.
Cgtuts+ is home to one of the most talented communities online so I definitely want to thank everyone at Envato for even considering Ben and myself for this position. We are both very excited to join this amazing team and we look forward to continuing the work Kaleb and Matt have done to build Cgtuts+ into the best resource for computer graphics training online. Finally I'd like to say I'm excited to work with each of you! The community is what makes any site great and I'm really looking forward to seeing where we can go from here!
Here's what Ben had to say
Hey everyone, Ben Tate here. First I'd like to say a big thanks to Matt for all the amazing work he's done as editor. I'd also like to thank him for going above and beyond in helping Chris and myself get up to speed on the many editor duties here at Cgtuts+. He made the transition as painless as possible and was always there to answer any questions we had, so thanks again Matt! I wish you all the best at The Foundry and in the future!
I also like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Envato for considering both Chris and myself for the editor position. We are super excited to join the team and look forward to working with everyone towards the continued growth and success of Cgtuts+ and the Envato network!
As we move ahead, I'm looking forward to working with the many talented authors and contributors here at Cgtuts+ and I hope together we can continue to grow this awesome community into the absolute best source for CG training anywhere!
