Create Old Photos Up In A Creepy Attic

by

In today's tutorial I will breakdown and recreate one of my projects. We will cover how to set up an environment that resembles an old attic, try to simulate an old photo look for our video material, and make it all come together by adding lots of small touches to the project. I created this after receiving low res video that the client wanted me to use. Full screen, this clips looked horrible, but after creating this "frame" of sorts, nobody will ever know the difference!

In this tutorial we are going to create a cool looking 3D animation for Valentine's day. Starting off in illustrator, we will quickly create a heart shape and then jump into Cinema 4D to setup the animation using some dynamic simulations, add materials to the scene, render the animation and export it. Finally we will move into After Effects to composite the piece, and make it look sexy and finished by adding motion blur, particles, flares and color correction.Read More…

In this tutorial, we are going to take a look at how to shoot and process a time lapse video of the stars. As the earth rotates, the stars appear to move across the sky during the night, but they move so slowly that the only way to really appreciate this phenomenon is through time lapse footage. We'll cover finding a location, choosing your gear, setting up your camera and doing the post-production.Read More…

Some of you may have read my Ember.js series of articles and realized I'm pretty smitten with the framework. But as a professional developer, it's important that I consider other tools and take the time to vet them properly. One of the frameworks that everyone keeps telling me to look at is AngularJS. It aims to make building complex web apps easier but from experience, I know that most frameworks have a learning curve. It's never just dive in and code.Read More…
